Top 5 Reasons I love My New Job
#5. We love the community of South Riding.
- Beautiful planned community. We have an incredible place to live. Seriously, it's like 3 times bigger than our house in GA. The people here are very nice, incredibly smart and very committed to their families. We are so excited to serve these people.
#4. We love the vision of our church.
- Our leadership team feels the heartbeat of our community and their unique needs. It's interesting to see that what would reach people in GA will not work here, because of the cultural differences.
#3. We have some incredible volunteers.
- Even in our few short weeks, we have seen people step up to the plate in ministry in incredible ways.
#2. We have an incredible staff.
- These guys have shown us over and over again that they are genuinely interested in being our friends. They work incredible hard and are hugely talented.
#1. We have an awesome pastor.
- Brad has a humble heart and an uncompromising commitment to engaging people in a growing relationship with God. He has also shown his commitment and love to us, protect us and to make sure we have everything our family needs.
Why do you love your jobs so much?

Back From The Dead, New Job and Twittering
I'm back to the creative spark after a 5 month absence. As many of you know, Gina and I are no longer at The Pointe. After some unpleasantness, God made it clear our time was over there. We are in our second official week at Dulles Community Church in the Washington DC suburbs. We couldn't be more excited about what God has called us to here. We have a great pastor and already we know that these guys are going to be our friends for life.
I am also now twittering. If you are not familiar with the concept, you must check it out. Perry Noble posted a great blog post about what Peter might have twittered if he had the technology. I am currently twittering and getting updates on my phone from:
Gina Napier (My wife...duh!)
Brad Russell (My new pastor)
Mark Batterson (Pastor of one of the most innovative churches I know of)
Joan Webb (My birth mother)
Rob Soule (Web designer and husband of our Family Ministry Director)
Carlos Whitaker - had to take his updates off the phone because he twitters ALOT!

Learning Motion
I came across a website a few months back called VideoCopilot.net and I was completely mesmerized by it. It is run by a guy named Andrew Kramer, a gifted graphic artist who was posting free tutorials for Adobe After Effects. Did you hear that? FREE! Now these offerings were a means to sell his products, but his willingness to give away something was a stroke of genius.
We bought some of his video products and I have been working with Apple's version of After Affects called Motion. I am still a HUGE amateur at it, but I am having lots of fun when I am not pulling out my hair. I want our videos to be some of the best out there. If I am going to lead this team, I know that I have to be literally leading the way. I have completed a few projects. I will be posting them here later.

"Chazown" Message Series

We are currently looking at the preaching calendar for The Pointe for the next year. I can honestly say that I am more excited about the next three series than any ever before. This next year is going to be absolutely incredible. We have gotten the basics of all of our series through the summer.
I am currently focusing on the first series, beginning in January. It is based on Craig Groeschel's book Chazown. We are looking at putting it in the framework of a very manly muscle car theme. Check out the artwork below.
The next series that we will be working on is based on a book called "Deadly Viper Characters Assassins". This series will have a kung fu, asian feel to it. This series is about the sins and character flaws that seek to destroy our lives. You can see some of the visuals below.
I would love to hear your reactions to these series and graphics. Let me know what you think?

1001 Blankets
My small group, Jedi's For Jesus, is currently doing an outreach called "1001 Blankets". Our goal is to collect or raise enough money to hand out 1001 blankets to the homeless and needy families in Albany/Lee County.
When we first started out, we were shooting for just 300 blankets, but we remembered Hebrews 11:6. "Without faith, it is impossible to please God." We realized that 300 blankets, while a great goal, was pretty easy to attain. We felt the call to up the ante. To set a goal that was impossible without God. 1001 blankets was that impossible goal.
As a result, we have gotten tons of media coverage. WALB & The Albany Herald picked up the story and we got some great response from those. We have set up drop-off stations all around Albany/Lee County.
Join us in our "Revolution of Compassion" as we seek to warm hearts and change lives. If you would like to help us purchase more blankets, you can send a check to:
The Pointe
PO Box 4818
Albany Ga, 31701
Memo: 1001 Blankets
You can also drop off blankets at the following locations:
- Automotive Necessities
- Gill's Electronics
- Griffin & Co. Insurance
- The Pointe Ministry Office

Craig Groeshel's New Book

Craig Groeshel has a new book out called "Going All The Way: Planning for a marriage that goes the distance. I love Craig. I met him at The Buzz Conference and my wife Gina met him at Catalyst. I can't wait to read this book. Next to Andy Stanley, Craig has become my favorite speaker. We do a lot of his message series at The Pointe. I love his commitment to his wife and kids (all six of them). I love what he said people always say to him when they find out he has six kids. We have three kids, all 3 and under. People think they are so clever when they say, "You know what causes that don't you." Craig said, "Yep. And we're not willing to give it up." AMEN to that!
